3 Home Decor Trends To Look Out For in Fall 2016

Lately my thoughts have been consumed with re-styling some of the rooms in our home...it all started on Wednesday when a sudden burst of energy landed me in Michaels and colliding with the 40% off patio lighting sale.


At first, I thought this is brilliant, let's start by re-decorating our patio. End of summer sales are rampant right now and everything will be on sale! The beauty of living in San Diego we get to enjoy outdoor living year round.



Until... the mail came and our new Z Gallerie mag was delivered just in time for me to reconsider...the living room....or the patio.

The use of texture may not always be obvious but rest assured it has a dramatic impact when used properly. 2017 is the year of consumers making a conscious choice in creating their style, mood and comfort in each room. Diamond Vogel points out shoppers are conscious about wellness and more intentional about connection, putting a fresh spin on natural colors and textures.

"These cleansing organic tones encourage connection, health and considerate living. Simple, balancing hues promote a temporary disconnect from the digital realm in favor of getting back to the basics." 

The more neutrally colored the room, the more important texture becomes. An ode to nature with use of raw materials or perhaps a re-purposing project with an unexpected pop of color against the more natural tones. And remember my friends...neutral doesn't mean just beige, there is a neutral of every color in the rainbow.

Wallpapers have been around for centuries and seems to always hold a category for "trending"... 2017 is no different. Transform your rooms through expression in art inspired wallpaper. From florals to photographs nothing is impossible when it comes to wall creativity. From whimsical to modern the opportunities are endless. Which will you gravitate towards?

Z Gallerie Gets a Gold Medal for Its Classic Modern Style

The new fall release claims taking classic shape and detail reinterpreted it for modern style. Modern design refers to a period of time, a design style created in the 1920's-1950's. It doesn't change, it is a defined style much different from that of contemporary design that is ever changing.

Clean, where less is more and the use of natural materials such as wood, leather and teak are prominent. Plastic and polished metals are also popular in modern furniture. Z Gallerie nails it this season and I'm most excited for the new Fall home decor options.

They really do make it hard to choose just one...and the bedrooms styles this season...to die for!

I think if I had to choose just one trend to implement in my home decor this fall it would be the wallpaper art! What a fantastic way to make a huge impact with very little effort.
