Inspiring Summer Camps in La Jolla for the Kids
I don't know about you, but keeping the kids busy during the summer is high on our priority list! Coming from an extremely creative household both of our sons are motivated by art in all forms and we encourage it.

Our youngest son Jaxen loves to sing, and pretty much does it all day from the moment he opens his eyes. He isn't afraid to express  himself and apparently doesn't care what others might think of him. His latest fashion statement is wearing black glasses with no lenses
that he painted with white out and a flipped up baseball cap.

Jaden, our lefty, plays the guitar and loves to draw and paint. In my opinion, creativity is one of the best outlets for our over-active, constantly moving, continually talking early to rise bowls of sunshine. Dr.s say ADHD let's medicate and Mom says let's just keep em' busy! But that's another topic, for a different day.

A study performed at University of Missouri shares these interesting stats about 'Creativity in Young Children':
  • Adults often do not recognize the value these creative children bring to families and classrooms. Eventually, these children become the adults who make a difference in our world with their creative problem-solving skills. Physical environments designed to stimulate the senses can enhance creative problem solving.
  • Independence (with reasonable limits) — Parents and teachers should encourage children to think and act freely without adult direction, yet within the limits of rules.
  • Exposure to a diverse community - give children the opportunity to see and experience other cultures and ways of living to help learn and respect the choices other people make.
I was extremely excited when I stumbled upon La Jolla Historical Society Summer Camps and wanted to share them with you!!
