So you've decided to come along with me and sort some things around the house...I don't blame you these tips are sure to get you on your way to a more organized home in no time. 

First, decide which closets you are going to tackle...figure out which closets will be used for which type of storage (crafts, gift wrap, toys, junk). For some of us cleaning out our closets is the last thing we want to do...TRUST..I empathize...so just start with one. Get your clothes closet organized first.

Plan ahead on what you to do with your items that you don't want. Remember we are CLEANING OUT our closets, so yes, some items will have to go. Someone needs them, donate them to your favorite charity. I saw this amazing and creative pop-up shop pin on Pinterest and couldn't help but share this great idea: 
The project asks citizens to donate clothes and shoes they don't wear and leave them "in" the shop so the homeless or peeps in need can pick them up. We really are capable of wonderful things when we think about what we might be able to do for others!

Second, work out your system and procedure for organization. Hang what you can and fold heavy sweaters and jeans. Get baskets for your purses and boxes for your jewelry. Are you going to color code? or arrange by clothing style?

Third, start with an empty closet. Take everything out and lay them on the bed. Pull your shoes, purses, belts and anything else laying around. Working with an empty space is much easier and you can evaluate each piece of clothing as you go. Is it a keeper, toss or donate item?
