Improve the perceived value of your home with these easy DIY projects.

I have compiled a list of easy do-it-yourself projects to help update your home in 2013. These projects can also be implemented if you are looking to list your property and want to look better than that other house on the market (you know...your competition). Today the focus is your entryway or front door.

Your Front Door - What does it say about you?

The first thing people see when they visit your home is your front door. What kind of impression is it leaving?

The condition of your front door contributes a lot to the first impression people have of your home. If you are looking to improve your home's curb appeal a quick coat of paint can be added and very affordable if you do it yourself. Here are some of my favorite front doors and tutorials on how to paint your front door.

Get clean or replace old hardware, you can see the tutorial here on our Pinterest page.

Are you tired of the color on your door? Paint it a bright unexpected color, lately I have been drawn to purple doors (but ask me two months ago and it would have been red!)

Some simple planters could also do the trick to brighten up the appearance of your entry way.
